WE HAVE FORGOTTEN

29th November 2008
NSG & Army kill all terrorist inside the Nariman House, Oberoi ,Trident and Taj Hotel. We see a wave of humans out there to shake their hands, hug them, say thank you, girls wanting to give flowers to the NSG commandos. Period

Over to 2nd May 2009
In the sleepy town of Coimbatore, pro-LTTE, Pro-Srilankan Tamils attacked a convoy of Indian Army trucks, returning from a military exercise. They pelted heavy stones on the wind screens of the trucks, arson ed & burned the equipment, threw rocket propelled grenades on the streets. They also foul mouthed the Army soldiers. Period

What has changed in these 5 months. Nothing, at all. The common man’s memory is weak & will continue to be the same. We do it to our politicians, our sportsmen, our cricketers & now also our Soldiers. Nothing new at all. We are a thankless country. We forget very easily. Or are we mislead by our leaders, their goons or chamcha’s ( ass licking community, a global phenomenon).

Why was the Police cover not given to an Army convoy when it is generally passing through towns ( it is meant to ease the movement of the convoy)????
Why did the police not arrive at the scene within minutes, when informed about the attack???
Why do we forget about our Armed Forces in times of peace & prosperity???????

The only thing I can answer is that why didn’t the army personnel fire to disperse the crowd.???
The answer is that the army is not trained to gun down its own people. With the convoy coming back from a training exercise, there would have been no dearth of arms & am munitions to wage a long war against these vandals. The jawans & their officers showed maturity & restraint.

We should be ashamed of our actions. All the soldier wants is encouragement. And this is what we give him in return of saving our lives, by guarding our frontiers. In one of my earlier posts I have complained about our ‘WE SHALL FORGET ‘ syndrome. We are surely forgetting. Forgetting the sacrifice of our armed forces since 1947. They have fought the enemy in 1948, 1962,1965, 1971 & 1999, to save the sovereignty & independence of our motherland. Yet each & every time we have betrayed them,

I would also like to apologise to our soldiers who faced this appalling & demoralizing incident. I am sorry Mr. Soldier. Sorry that our countrymen behaved in this manner.

But I would also like to add that people who matter should not treat this as an emotional issue, a political situation. It is a Law & Order situation. A crime for which someone has to pay, even if it means hurting the sentiments of Tamils, in India or elsewhere.

SHAME ON US

TIME TO CHANGE

Saw the film ‘Leader’ yesterday on TV. This film was first screened in 1964 & was directed by Ram Mukherjee aka…Rani Mukherjee’s father & written by Dilip Kumar. Was a nice movie with a plot that was very common in those times(maybe it will again come in fashion with our industry walas).A honest, straight talking & over enthusiastic hero fighting the landlords, the corrupt businessmen, greedy ‘Lalas ( Marwari Businessmen).
What stands out is the year of release of this mega-blockbuster in the year 1964. It is said that cinema is a reflection of the society. If that’s true, I fail to understand that how the generation before us says proudly that people were not corrupt in their times. 1964 was surely their era. If we can have politicians & businessmen like that in the cinema of 1964, I am sure that the politicians were corrupt even then.
Now I am thinking out loud…if the leaders were the same back then & are the same now ( basing my statement on the fact that cinema is a reflection of the society of that day), who is at fault..I am sure it is not just them, but us the commoners too. This system or ‘resignation to fate’ needs to change. This is not just going to change in a day or just by voting on Election Day, we need each & every Indian to behave in a manner that sets an example amongst others. Let us for once out do, one another in being righteous, fair, honest, dedicated, passionate & compassionate and not just try to outdo each other in our wealth, our respect/fear/clout in the society or any other ego enhancing quality.

The time to change has come. If we don’t hop on to the bus right now , I am not sure when the next bus will come.

IS THE ELECTION NOTHING BUT A SCAM????????

It takes a literate around 2 hours to find his name in the electoral rolls.....an illiterate does that in less than 10 minutes.....know where he needs to go to vote, find his name in the electoral rolls, cast his precious vote & be done in less than half an hour..........whose democracy is this???? what kind of oppression are we talking about??? the only oppressed iS the Middle class that comes out in numbers to exercise their adult franchise ( of course after NGOs, Corporates & Election watchdogs spend crores & crores in advertising & create awareness) & am sure go back home a disillusioned lot......

The Election Commission & the GOI has a lot of work cut out for them.......we should have regular or crash courses in voting & election hoopla.....specially for the Indian middle class.......

As for the question....did i vote....sorry missed out the registrations deadline in my city.....now you know if my favourite candidate loses by 1 vote....i would be the culprit......so my appeal to all...PLEASE VOTE THIS TIME & ALL THE TIMES TO COME....

THE REAL INDIAN ECONOMY

A stark contrast to the last general elections in 2004, Election 09 lacks the punch, the issues, the guidance. This election's pace & issues had been decided long back, if i may say in Oct 08, when the global downturn started showing its true colours. The'Aam Admin Ke Saath' pitch ( or branding strategy) began to die & the reality began to show us its ugly , yet true side. And yet the government of the day choose to ignore it. With Biggies like , Monty, Pc & the good ol' Doctor himself, we still don't see this downturn affecting us.. I would request all the folks who say that the mood on the streets is calm to go around & see for themselves, rather than their cronies giving them Second hand reports.

Today's Young India is a confident lot, in some cases like the MBA colleges i am trying to pitch for, over confident. Students are still dreaming about paychecks of Half million & upward salaries. Still the market is not in a mood to oblige. Many B- schools have got a placement percentage that is less than 50% of the last year . Most have still got almost 50-80% of the batch to be placed. What kind of progress are we talking about.

Spoke to an analyst at a big I-Bank. The mood there was also negative in nature. He did not even shy away from saying that the share market will see 20K plus only in 2015.

And what kind of progress are we talking about.

GDP numbers in the range of 8-9.5 % have slipped to 6.5-7% and still expected to fall below 6%, what kind of progress are we talking about.

*Please note that the author is no economics doctorate, but then one doen't need to be a Doctorate to see the signs on the street.

THE PROCESS HAS STARTED.....

In one of my earlier posts, i have written that the nation's memory is very short lived......n yes we have started forgetting........

There were 2 hoarding near the RSI Club & MG Road that carried the pictures of Shaheed Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan & Shaheed Havildar Gajendra Singh......Whenever i crossed these hoarding my eyes would automatically turn moist.........now these hoardings are gone.......i feel a part of us has forgotten another part...the part that saves us on a daily basis......

They Die so that we can Live.......

They stay awake, so that we can sleep peacefully.....

n what do we give them in return.......

Short memory syndrome.......Insult Syndrome.........

Shame on Us!!!!!

SATYAM-THE TRUTH

The world surely has gone bonkers........A Gaaadbaad-Ghotala (Fraud) of around 5000 Cr ores( 7000 Cr ores according to some reports)has put SATYAM & also the whole Indian industry in these times of recession in a deeper pool of uncertainty.

Was speaking to a friend of mine Vishal today...he showed me the irony in all this & we shared a laugh ......SATYAM in Hindi/Sanskrit means 'THE TRUTH'........and surely with a name like that this is the kind of deeds that you do.

THE DARK SECRETS BEHIND THE TRUTH...........

GOD BLESS CORPORATE INDIA.......

Our Soldiers don't want 3 Crores.........

Another SMS that is doing rounds and is being circulated by Indians who will surely forget the sacrifices of the men who laid down their lives fighting the terrorists that brought Mumbai to its knees:

" An Olympic shooter wins Gold ( only a game ) & the Government gives him 3 crores + awards.

Another shooter dies fighting with terrorists, ( saving our country and our lives) & Government pays his family 5 Lacs. Truly Great India?!?
( Please forward this to all Indians, that it reaches the President, PM, CM's, IAS & all concerned)....think which is important...ashamed of our politicians......."

I also received the same SMS from another newly concerned Indian, who has suddenly become a politically aware being............My answer to him( i have already replied back to him via SMS)

"Dear Friend thank you for your concern, but please don't spoil the ordinary solider..they don't want money & neither do they die to get it........they are trained to fight & they are just doing their job...pray for their families & them JAI HIND"

My request to all is that please don't over hype them as you do with your politicians, your cricketers & your young achievers, your talent show contestants......they are merely doing their job & if all of us also do our jobs with sincerity & commitment, we can make a NEW INDIA......an INDIA free of classes, castes, politics, corruption & all evils that plague our urban & rural INDIA..........

If you wish to do anything for the soldier please pray for his family & wish that god gives them enough strength to bear their loss, because we shall surely forget & when we do that they are the ones( the family) that shall be left alone, without anyone to hear them out..............
