POLITICIANS COME OF AGE..........

Well people.......it is again that time, when parties across the board are interviewing( or whatever they do....))) to identify their next Lok Sabha Elections....and as usual...there is a resentment brewing up between the old guard & new.........for the number of seats allocated to the young blood..............and all parties across the spectrum, Left , Right or Centre are saying that they will give emphasis to younger netas..........i would like to draw your attention to a statistic.........( provided by Lok Sabha TV).......now..now, don't faint or pop your eyes out....i don't watch Lok Sabha TV.........i was just surfing channels..........

Meanwhile getting back to the statistics....

1st LOK SABHA :

No. of MPs between 25-35 years : 82 ( EIGHTY TWO ONLY )

AND NOW TO THE FUTURE......

PRESENT LOK SABHA:

No. of MPs between 25-35 years: 29 ( TWENTY NINE ONLY )

I think the numbers speak for themselves.......and yes younger blood is getting a lot of things......the major being...a 'BOOT IN THE A _ _ '............

THE MORALS OF POLITICS

A short Story:

Once upon a time, in a far far away jungle, elections were held. The Lions party was the majority party, but it did not have enough votes to form a government. They went from pillar to post, from friends to foes, asking for support. Support came in from an unlikely corner, the Fox party, but it was an outside support, with only the fruits of power to be enjoyed, without any responsibilities to share.
A government, albeit a coalition one, was formed. It went on for sometime, with the fox arm twisting the lion on every issue. When the Fox started unnecessarily harassing other animals of the jungle, they made the Lions look away. A lot of animals lost their food & daily supplement of vitamins, because of the foxes, but the lions choose to be indifferent, as if nothing had happened.
The main opposition, the Hawks, voiced their opposition time & again, but were ridiculed. Even they at times strayed from their morals & snatched food from other animals. So in short it was like ' JUNGLE RAJ'( LAW OF THE WILD). Daily living expenses of all the animal families, was going up on a daily basis, but neither the lions nor the foxes interested in controlling this inflation.
Now, just before the end of the term, the lions entered into a pact with the Tigers of a different jungle to rule all the jungles. For this they entered into a deal, widely known as the 'Cha1-Cha2-Cha3 Deal'. All hell broke loose, with the foxes crying foul, over them being kept in the dark about the deal. Also the ideology of the Tigers was very different to the foxes & the foxes resented tigers as anti-animals.
The foxes withdrew support to the government, not on the price rise but on the 'Cha1-Cha2-Cha3 Deal'. Now the government had to prove their majority on the floor of the grazing grounds. Small parties like Deer party, Swan party, Horse party & many independent votes, were being shown lolly pops or issued threats to gain their support.

Stay tuned to know what will happen to the coalition?? Will it survive, with the support of these smaller groups or will the fox party bring down the government, that too with the help of their arch rivals the Hawks.............

Moral of the Story: POLITICS HAS NO MORALS

Dad knows best........

My dad was after me when i was growing up(still is at times) to religiously read the newspaper daily.....................i am sure your father would also be after you on this issue.....

Yesterday for the 'n' th time in my life, i realised he was & is always right.......

Read an article where the Chief Minister of a state that had witnessed a recent & unnecessary tirade against N-Indians, declaring that he is behind the cause of reservation for the 'SONS OF THE SOIL' , but was against the methods used by a small regional party.

I could not have agreed more with my father, that reading the paper daily is important. I woke up to a reality, a reality of how unprepared our countrymen are for Globalisation.
Imagine, with a few lakh North Indians coming to a state, the sons of the soil feel threatened, what would happen if at WTO this year, it is agreed to open under developed & developing markets to goods from developed countries, without any restrictions. What will happen to these sons of the soil is unimaginable.......

I wonder what i would buy:
A battery costing Rs 7 a piece or one costing Rs 3????

A bike worth Rs 15000 or a bike worth Rs 25000?????

the list can go on & on, and i have not even mentioned agricultural or processed goods.........

I am sure our country will be flooded with food products & canned foods that are even cheaper than our food grains....

It scares me.............to think of these sons of the soil..........

Instead of fighting amongst ourselves, we should unite & fight this trend, or witness colonialism of another form.

MUMBAI SE SHANGHAI

A local daily in Pune had a report on the pending road projects that were being specially undertaken for the Commonwealth Youth Games 2008 to be held in the city. The clarification being given by the corprator was that as the road being mentioned does not fall in the CYG development plan, no time frame has been set for completion...........the moment i read this my eyes froze...my brain stopped working for sometime.......a project started with the taxpayers money & not having a deadline..............

LONG LIVE INDIA.........

our MUMBAI's can surely dream & only dream of being SHANGHAI's............
